Another cultivation is the "giaccioli"one, well know as iris. It is very usual during spring, walking through the districts of Cazzano and see long necklaces of roots of iris, hung on the walls in order to dry them in the sun.
The rizhomes of the iris, in the past an important resource of the area, were cultivated to safeguard the environment: the soil here is very friable and to prevent landslices it was necessary to resort to the strong and branched apparatus of these kind of plants.
At Cazzano di Tramigna you can visit the nice St.Peter church (XII century), immersed in the center of an olive grove, indoors you can find some stratified frescos of the fourteenth century, which represent: the Passion, the Apostles and some other Saints.
Another church that is worth visiting is the St.Felix church (IX-X) in the romanesque style, in the past it was entirely fresced, now it is possible to admire some remains of them on the walls.
